1月31日 It's been to long January 31stFor of all i wanna start out by saying wat to go jill you are doing awsome with your weight loss. . .Well i guess I should explain why i have not been on here in a while. . .. I started school and have been super busy and i have been down because i have not lost any weight in two weeks. . i might have even gained some. . I am scard to even get on the scale. I just can't seem to stay away from fast food and eat right. And it has been so cold and rainy so i can't go walking outside and so yeah there goes my excuses. . but anyways i am really going to work on it this week. .So everyone pray that i have lost a lil. . at least not gained any. . 1月29日 Water QuestionOK I have a question about water for all you nutiritionally-minded folks out there!
How much stuff can you add to your water and it still count as water? I mean decaf coffee doesn't count towards your 60+ daily ounces, even though it's almost all water. What about the little flavor packets? They're sugar-free and no calories, but does it still count? I can see caffeine making it not count, but what about diet caffeine free soda? This may seem like a really dumb question, but it's something I was really wondering about. Does your water have to be PURE water to be beneficial? 1月26日 Week 3 Weigh-InThis week I've lost 4 pounds! I think a big part of that is the fact that I was sick yesterday and barely ate anything. With that in mind, I'm only setting my goal for next week at 2 pounds, because I'm not positive all that 4 pounds is really gone. But it was still exciting to see it on the scale!
That brings me to an exciting milestone--as long as I lose 1 pound by next week's weigh-in I will have gotten out of the obesity range with my BMI! Not that I'm happy to be "overweight" but it's better than "obese"! Right now I'll take what I can get!
Hope everyone else is having great results! 1月22日 Week 2 Weigh-InOk, I know I haven't written in a few days, and I missed my Saturday weigh-in blog, but here it is--better late than never!
This week when I weighed I had lost another 2 pounds. I didn't meet my goal of 3, but considering everything that's been going on the past week I'm lucky I didn't gain 2. I've had a couple of different stressful situations going on at once and normally I would turn to my ultimate comfort food--chocolate. And in fact, one night when I was feeling particularly down I grabbed an entire box of swiss rolls. But I thought about this site, and I thought about my body and I didnt' even eat one. I was very proud of myself! I also didn't have time to exercise this week much because of everything, but hopefully that will also get better this week.
My goal for next week is 3 pounds, getting down to 181. 1月19日 Jan12008Ok i am beginning to get frustrated. . I am eating good. . and exceriseing when i can and yet. . Hardley any results. I am so confused! This is week to and i have barley lost a pound. . .GRRRRR If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!!! I am open to anything. .
Breakfast:half a banana, bit of muffin(ww but i didn't like it), cup of coffee with fat free milk.
Lunch:Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, 1/2 cup of potato salad, and a few tortilla chips
Supper:
Snack: Special K bar, dr. pepper(can)
Way to go Jill on your 2 pound weight loss. . YEAH. . 1月18日 January 18, 2008Well I think for being in school most of today i did pretty good. I took a bottle of water to class so i didn't buy a dr.pepper. I didn't do any excerise yesterday but i did clean my house and do home work. lol. . I have got to find a work out dvd that i like.
Breakfast:. . haha no time
Lunch: 6in wheat ham sub, baked ruffles, dr.pepper
Supper: Slim fast with fat free milk
Snack:special K bar
Jill: awww. . I love you to. . .you know that i would do ANYthing for ya. . and It is to cold to walk with the kidos anyway. But we will figure something out. . January 18Ok, the first thing I want to do is say what a great friend Nicky is. I have had a lot of stuff going on this week, and Nicky has been so understanding about not being able to workout together. Plus I had a little medical drama and she went to the er with me, and she had me laughing the whole time. You're an awesome friend Nicky, I love you!
As for the weight loss things have been going pretty well. I've been doing good food-wise, but I haven't had time to exercise. I've noticed that I'm getting full faster and I'm able to eat something that's not that good for me but not overindulge, which is mostly a mental thing for me. Last night, for example, I got a fish dinner. I only ate 1 piece of fish (out of 3), one and a half of the long hush puppies, and a few fries. That's not good at all, but a few weeks ago I would have eaten every crumb and ordered a milkshake to boot. So I'm pretty proud of my changing attitude toward food. I think I'm going to meet my weight-loss goal for this week, but I'm really not sure yet. We'll see tomorrow! 1月15日 January 15 2008Exercise: I was able to do 16 sit ups at one time. I also added some crunches I was able to do 15 crunchs at one time. I did 7 modified push ups and they hurt bad tonight. lol I also did my leg excerises. I did 2 minutes on my mini trampoline. I was not able to go walking tonight because of other issues.. . maybe tomorrow. . I will do double :)
Food: I had a slimfast shake for breakfast. Mcdonalds for lunch, and a bowl of deer chili for supper. I stayed within my calorie range so that was a good thing.
Well tomorrow starts the real challange. . I go back to class. And ijust found out that i have to do a 12 clinical day once a week. In the past semesters i would buy a bottle of dr pepper at school and snack so my goal is to NOT get any dr pepper and to drink water instead. . Well good luck tommorrow.
***Biggest Loser*** Well tonight it was kinda sad to see the white team go home. She seemed like such a hard worker. . Usually there is people that I want to go home but this season it is harder i really like everyone. . Although I wish that i was there. January 14, 2008I feel like I did pretty well today (well, yesterday--I'm writing a day late). Here's what I ate:

Lunch--1/2 a Weight Watchers pizza (I was sooo proud that I was able to keep from eating it all), a banana, and handful of fat free pretzels
Snack--Banana
Dinner--McDonalds chicken bacon ranch salad w/ fat free Italian dressing instead of ranch
Exercise--Nicky & I walked 1.4 miles pushing double strollers 1月14日 January 14 2008Well today was alot better than it had been in a while. I wasn't hungry all day. Losing weight is such a stressful emotional roller coaster. . It is crazy. But hopefully it will get better. Well i am very pround of myself i only had 1 can of dr pepper today. . Which is really good for me. Hopefully if I keep this up by saturday i will have lost some weight.
Food

Dinner: Baked Boneless skinless chicken breast, homemade mashed potatoes, corn

Me and Jill went walking today and almost did 1.5 miles. . it came out to 1.4 lol. . But close enough. . There has to be some extra calories burned for pushing strollers. . with two kids in the up hill. . lol But it always feels so good after we get done. 1月13日 January 13, 2008. .Ok so I so have to agree with Jill this website is so refreshing. . I love to get on and read what Jil has done for the day or what she has eatin. Ok so since I started this it seems like I try and try and I also come out on bottom. No matter how hard i try it seems like I don't lose any weight. So I am determined to get below 170 and yet i have not been able to so this next week i am going to try to do slim fast for breakfast and some lunch. I really want this.
I went walking today it was a lil over a mile. Then i did my lateral thigh trainer. and of coarse my sit ups and my leg excerises. I also found alot of pilates on youtube so i am going to try super hard this week and see how things go. . . Hopefully whatever jill is doing I will be able to catch on.
Ok so today i was able to do 8 modified push ups. . How sad is that. . I am def going to work on my arms. I was able to do 13 full sit ups which is getting a little closer to my goal of 20.
January 13, 2007I want to start off today by saying how much this website is helping me stick to my new lifestyle changes. Realistically I know that there are only going to be one or two people (including Nicky) who will read this blog, but something in my mind still wants to think that there are thousands logging on. Every time I start to eat something I shouldn't, I think about what all those people are going to think. Rediculous I know, but it helps me stay accountable!
Anyway, here's how I did today.
Breakfast--Egg whites, whole wheat bagel, coffee (by the way my coffee is with non-fat creamer & sweet n low)
Lunch--Turkey breast on toasted white-wheat bread, banana, and low-fat pretzels
Dinner--"fake fried fish", baked hush puppies
Snacks--100 calorie swiss roll, banana, 5 dark chocolate hersheys kisses
*And by the way, I think it's AWFUL of the people who put out the 100 calorie swiss rolls to package them in twin packs when they are 100 calories EACH--very wrong!* Fake Fried FishFake Fried FishThis recipe is for baked fish that tastes just like fried fish (just noticeably less greasy and much better for you!).
*fish fillets (catfish, bass, whatever you have) *2 cups yellow corn meal *1/2 cup vegetable oil *salt to taste *Cavenders seasoning to taste
This recipe is really simple. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Mix corn meal, salt, & Cavenders in a bowl. Take each fish fillet and dip it in the oil. Let excess oil drip off (I even like to rub as much off as possible with my fingers). Dip fillet into the dry batter mix. Cover thoroughly. Shake off excess batter and lay pieces on a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes (depending on thickness of fish fillets). 1月12日 Week 1 Weigh InI was so excited about today's weigh-in--I lost 6 pounds! I know that when you first start a diet and exercise routine you lose more weight faster initially, but it was still so exciting to see it on the scale. One thing that's motivating me is knowing that I could do even better next week--exercise a little more, cut out a few more of those bad food choices. I feel like I've made a good start, and I can't wait to continue!
Goals for Week 2
Weight loss--3 pounds, down to 183
Exercise--Do cardio at least 4 days (walking/jogging, tennis, trampoline)
Food--Watch serving sizes more closely
January 11, 2008Well I did soso today. I usually don't do so well when my husband is home. . and he is off this weekend. . SOOOOOO. . I went for a short walk by myself(1/2mile) then last night jill and i went to the tennis courts and played for a lil bit. . Then we did some jogging up and down the tennis court. . I only made it there and back before i thought my lungs were going to blow up. So i guess my goal for this week is to be able to do it there and back twice. I had a cereal for breakfast. . then a whopper jr from burger king, and homemade chicken pot pie for supper. Today was weigh in and I am frustrated because i didn't lose any. I am kinda bumed but i guess I will just have to tryharder this time. Week 1 weigh inWell today is weigh in time and I am so frustrated. I didn't lose any weight. . not even one single pound. . Sigh. . well i guess i will try some more this week. . But this is not easy hopefully when i get jill's exercise video it will help some. . Well good luck all. . But sorry no results. . :)
My exercise goal is to be able to jog up and down the tennis court 2 times before the next weigh in and to be able to do 20 sit ups ( i am at 10 now). I would also like to be able to do my excerise machine for at least 7 mins, and my mini trampoline for 5 min.
My food goal is to be able to only have one dr.pepper a day. (It sounds easy but trust me it is not. . for me anyways) and to make sure that i am eating small meals throughout the day. 1月11日 Day 7Today was a better day than yesterday. The baby was still sick *stomach bug* so I was at home with my kiddos again. I feel like I ate better though, plus Nicky & I got to go play tennis tonight, which was so much fun. My 4-year-old came with us and rode his bike around the court, so he got to get some exercise, too! I am a little worried about tomorrow. We're having my son's birthday party and I know I'm going to be so tempted by cake and ice cream. I bought some 100 calorie swiss rolls and some pretzels for myself, so hopefully I'll be able to keep my priorities straight. Wish me luck! See you tomorrow for WEIGH-IN!

Exercise--Tennis with Nicky (plus we jogged from one end of the court to the other and back which was painful but hilarious) Salsa ChickenSalsa Chicken
This recipe is very good and very simple!
You will need:
1 pckg chicken breast
1 jar of your favorite salsa or rotel
1/2 cup lowfat shredded cheese (optional)
Line a baking dish with foil (much easier cleanup) and preheat your oven to 375. Spoon a layer of salsa into the bottom of the pan then add chicken. Do NOT puncture chicken--this lets out the juices during cooking! Cover the chicken liberally with salsa. Bake for 45 minutes, then turn chicken adding a few spoonfuls of fresh salsa to the top. Bake another 45 minutes. You can serve with or without additional salsa & low-fat shredded cheese. Enjoy! 1月10日 Day 6I didn't do so well today. My baby was sick so we stayed home from school. During the summer I did GREAT about eating healthy foods and proportions. But for some reason today I was just so hungry, and I couldn't stop myself. Granted, I didn't eat nearly as poorly as I was before we started this competition, but I still disappointed myself. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will be better. No, not hopefully. Tomorrow WILL be better. Nicky & I are supposed to walk after I get off if the baby isn't still sick.

Snack--small bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch w/ 2% milk, dill pickles, 2 honey graham crackers (not all at once!)

Jan. 10 2008Well I think i did better than i have since we have started. I had egg whites and a piece of toast for breakfast, a lean pocket and a glass of fat free milk for lunch, some veggies for snack. . and I think i am going to have a sloppy joe. . well half of one for supper. I didn't get alot of exercise in for today but i am going to do some before bed. I just don't understand I am not eating alot but yet No weight loss. . It is driving me nuts. I just really wanna see some results it is so frustrating. Tomorrow is weigh in day and i am going to be so mad at the results. . I start school wednesday and that is when it is really going to get hard. It is just so simple to run to taco bell or pizze Inn instad of cooking when i need to study but i have to figure something out. . Well until next time. . Good luck to everyone else. .
