1月18日 January 18Ok, the first thing I want to do is say what a great friend Nicky is. I have had a lot of stuff going on this week, and Nicky has been so understanding about not being able to workout together. Plus I had a little medical drama and she went to the er with me, and she had me laughing the whole time. You're an awesome friend Nicky, I love you!
As for the weight loss things have been going pretty well. I've been doing good food-wise, but I haven't had time to exercise. I've noticed that I'm getting full faster and I'm able to eat something that's not that good for me but not overindulge, which is mostly a mental thing for me. Last night, for example, I got a fish dinner. I only ate 1 piece of fish (out of 3), one and a half of the long hush puppies, and a few fries. That's not good at all, but a few weeks ago I would have eaten every crumb and ordered a milkshake to boot. So I'm pretty proud of my changing attitude toward food. I think I'm going to meet my weight-loss goal for this week, but I'm really not sure yet. We'll see tomorrow! 1月15日 January 14, 2008I feel like I did pretty well today (well, yesterday--I'm writing a day late). Here's what I ate:
Breakfast--whole wheat bagel, coffee
Lunch--1/2 a Weight Watchers pizza (I was sooo proud that I was able to keep from eating it all), a banana, and handful of fat free pretzels
Snack--Banana
Dinner--McDonalds chicken bacon ranch salad w/ fat free Italian dressing instead of ranch
Exercise--Nicky & I walked 1.4 miles pushing double strollers 1月13日 January 13, 2007I want to start off today by saying how much this website is helping me stick to my new lifestyle changes. Realistically I know that there are only going to be one or two people (including Nicky) who will read this blog, but something in my mind still wants to think that there are thousands logging on. Every time I start to eat something I shouldn't, I think about what all those people are going to think. Rediculous I know, but it helps me stay accountable!
Anyway, here's how I did today.
Breakfast--Egg whites, whole wheat bagel, coffee (by the way my coffee is with non-fat creamer & sweet n low)
Lunch--Turkey breast on toasted white-wheat bread, banana, and low-fat pretzels
Dinner--"fake fried fish", baked hush puppies
Snacks--100 calorie swiss roll, banana, 5 dark chocolate hersheys kisses
*And by the way, I think it's AWFUL of the people who put out the 100 calorie swiss rolls to package them in twin packs when they are 100 calories EACH--very wrong!* 1月11日 Day 7Today was a better day than yesterday. The baby was still sick *stomach bug* so I was at home with my kiddos again. I feel like I ate better though, plus Nicky & I got to go play tennis tonight, which was so much fun. My 4-year-old came with us and rode his bike around the court, so he got to get some exercise, too! I am a little worried about tomorrow. We're having my son's birthday party and I know I'm going to be so tempted by cake and ice cream. I bought some 100 calorie swiss rolls and some pretzels for myself, so hopefully I'll be able to keep my priorities straight. Wish me luck! See you tomorrow for WEIGH-IN!
Breakfast--Egg whites, 1/2 whole wheat bagel, coffee
Lunch--Weight Watchers lunch, handful of raw baby carrots
Dinner--Grilled chicken salad w/ fat free dressing
Snacks--Banana, a few of the short chunky Tootsie Rolls
Exercise--Tennis with Nicky (plus we jogged from one end of the court to the other and back which was painful but hilarious) 1月10日 Day 6I didn't do so well today. My baby was sick so we stayed home from school. During the summer I did GREAT about eating healthy foods and proportions. But for some reason today I was just so hungry, and I couldn't stop myself. Granted, I didn't eat nearly as poorly as I was before we started this competition, but I still disappointed myself. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will be better. No, not hopefully. Tomorrow WILL be better. Nicky & I are supposed to walk after I get off if the baby isn't still sick.
Breakast--Whole wheat bagel, egg whites, coffee
Lunch--Turkey breast on white-wheat bread, 100 calorie pack of cupcakes
Snack--small bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch w/ 2% milk, dill pickles, 2 honey graham crackers (not all at once!)
Dinner--Grilled chicken breast, corn on the cob, & green beans
Exercise--Pilates
1月9日 Day 5Today was another busy day! I did pretty well food wise, but I'll only have a chance to do PIlates again today. Our satellite was messed up last night so I didn't get to see the show (but thank you Nicky for DVR'ing it for me!). Tomorrow we start our Biggest Loser contest at my work--I'm so pumped! I think that will give me even more motivation that this site has!
Breakfast--Whole wheat bagel, coffee
Lunch--Weight Watchers lunch (chicken parmesan)
Snack--Small order of popcorn chicken from Sonic (I ate half and saved the other half for later, that's better than all at once, right?
Dinner--Turkey breast on white-wheat bread and a 100 calorie pack of chocolate cupcakes
Exercise--Pilates 1月8日 Day 4Today was a very hectic day. It was our second day back in school after the Christmas break, plus it's my son's birthday so I was busy buying cupcakes (didn't have any, thank you very much!) and getting ready for Saturday's party. I didn't have a chance to do any major exercise but I will do some pilates exercises before bed. Food-wise I did pretty good, and I didn't have any hard-to-handle food tempations. Overall it was a good day! ~*Happy Birthday Jeremiah*~
Breakfast--Whole wheat bagel, coffee
Lunch--Weight Watchers micro. dinner--Chicken alfredo
Snacks--Banana, whole wheat bagel
Dinner--Turkey Sandwich on white-wheat bread, banana, & fat-free Pringles
Exercise--Pilates 1月7日 Day 3Day 3 was my easiest day so far. I didn't have much temptation to deal with (except at snack-time in my preschool class), and I had some fun exercising. Nicky and I went walking about 3 miles. I pushed my 4-year-old and my 1-year-old in the double stroller which definitely added some burn! I also feel motivated today because my school is getting ready to start a Biggest Loser contest and that's all anyone's talking about. Had a great day, hope everyone else did too!
Breakfast--Whole wheat bagel & coffee (no time for egg whites now that we're back in school!)
Lunch--Weight Watchers microwave dinner--Saulsbury steak & mac n cheese, which was actually really good
Dinner--Grilled chicken salad w/ fat free ranch
Snack--apple slices (about equivalent to half a medium apple I think), banana
Exercise--Walked with Nicky appx 3 miles 1月6日 Day 2Today I did pretty well, except for lunch. I had a good breakfast, good dinner. But my family and I went out to eat after church and I couldn't resist the temptation to order my regular at our favorite Mexican restaurant--chicken fajita nachos (tortilla chips, grilled chicken, & queso). I felt guilty (especially when I told Nicky!), but like I said, I did good at breakfast and dinner. Fortunately I go back to work tomorrow so that eating out temptation won't be there. Hopefully I'll be able to make better food choices during the week and by next weekend I will have some momentum.
Breakfast--Whole wheat bagel, egg whites, coffee
Lunch--Chicken fajita nachos
Dinner--Salad (fat free dressing), banana
Exercise--Walked a mile with Nicky (with a short burst of sprinting that left us both hysterically out of breath!)
Good luck everybody! 1月5日 Day 1The first day was actually harder than I expected. I did great until my family & I were coming home from a mini-trip. My husband said that he was going to stop at a fast food place, and I was SO tempted to get something fattening even though I'd had a salad for dinner a few hours earlier
Breakfast--Whole Wheat Bagel, Egg Whites, & Coffee
Lunch--Salad w/ imitation bacon bits, Kraft Free Italian Dressing, and fat free croutons, & a sugar free jello cup
Dinner--McDonalds chicken-bacon-ranch salad
Snack--Whole Wheat Bagel
Exercise--Jumped on the trampoline in 3 minute intervals (which is harder than it sounds, especially for a chunky girl!)
Even though the first day held more temptations than I expected, I think I've started out well, and I'm looking forward to continuing this challenge--I can't wait to start seeing some results! |
